How long have you been a trustee?
This year is my first year!
What made you want to become a trustee?
To give back to the community - it’s at the heart of what I believe personally and business wise.
Why did you want to support a substance misuse charity?
It’s a traditionally taboo subject that needs to be more comfortable being at the forefront of thoughts helping to solve long standing issues.
Did you know much about this charitable cause before you became involved as a trustee?
I did yes - I live local to the charity and have seen their work first hand.
What do you feel trusteeship adds to your personal and professional development?
Understanding the issues surrounding funding and the struggles that charities like Druglink face day to day.
What value have you been able to add to your charity with your personal and professional experience?
Hopefully in the future helping to bring the charity on a more stable grounding financially - understanding that the charity needs to run like a business as well.
What do you think is the biggest challenge currently facing charities?
Funding and awareness.
What would you say are the important attributes a trustee should have?
Not being afraid to roll your sleeves up!

Be certain you want to do it - it’s not just something for your CV!
